King West Village is one of the hottest downtown locations for new condominium developments. Close to the Entertainment, Financial and Fashion Districts, this stretch of King Street West is an eclectic community that shares a common interest in luxury housing. Undoubtedly, the Massey Square Condos & Townhomes fit the bill. Located at 1000 King Street West and 39 Shank Street, just west of Stanley Park, I’ve chosen this building because it’s a well-designed residence in well-established part of Toronto.

There are 203 condominium units at 1000 King Street West and 3-storey townhouses at 39 Shank Street. Completed in 2002 by Plazacorp, each unit features contemporary spacious layouts and high quality finishes. The ceilings are 9” and some of the units have fireplaces. Other features include laminate natural maple-stained floors, floor-to-ceiling windows, gourmet kitchens and ceramic-tiled bathrooms. Penthouses can be found on the top 2 levels and they include large terraces.

The Massey Square Condos & Townhouses are very in-demand because of the complex’s low maintenance fees. Usually low maintenance fees means little to no facilities, but this is certainly not the case at 1000 King Street West. Although there’s no concierge, the building does offer underground parking, lockers, a security system, a party room, a media lounge and a gym.

For all of your other needs, the King West Village hosts a wide range of possibilities. The immediate area is rich with acclaimed restaurants, pubs, cafes and boutiques. Additionally, everyday necessities such as dry cleaners, florists, supermarkets and pharmacies are nearby—in fact, some of those shops can be found on the ground floor of 1000 King Street West.

Alternatively, commuting to other areas of the city is relatively hassle-free. The King streetcar has frequent stops and goes to the St. Andrew subway station. If you commute by car, you’ll enjoy Massey Square’s proximity to arterial highways such as the Gardiner Expressway and Lakeshore Boulevard.
