The Distillery District’s Pure Spirit Lofts & Condos at 33 Mill St is one of the residences at the top of my list because of its unique environment, innovative architecture and accessibility to Toronto’s major highways.
Located at 33 Mill Street, the Pure Spirit building consists of a 32-storey glass and steel tower resting on a 5-storey brick podium. The style of the building is in perfect harmony with the surrounding Victorian industrial buildings.
Despite being moment away from the Lakeshore Boulevard, the Gardiner Expressway and the Don Valley Parkway, highways will be the furthest thing from your mind in the pedestrian-only Distillery District.
Pure Spirit’s neighbourhood is full of galleries, boutiques, studios, restaurants, bars and cafes. Make sure to check out local favourites such as Balzac’s Coffee, the Mill Street Brew Pub and The Young Centre for the Performing Arts. At 33 Mill Street, you will also be close to the St. Lawrence Market, Corktown, Leslieville, Riverside and the Financial District.
Designed by Peter Clewes of Architects Alliance, Pure Spirit Lofts & Condos houses 378 units. The lofts range in size between 450 and 1500 sq. ft. They feature 9” and 10” ceilings, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances and engineered hardwood flooring.
The rooftop of Pure Spirit’s podium is arguably one of the best in the city. There’s a landscaped garden with an outdoor pool and a hot tub. Other amenities in the building include a fully-equipped exercise room, a media room, a billiards room, guest suites, saunas and a multi-purpose room with a large screen TV and a kitchen that can be reserved for private parties.
